Eat my dress, will ya…?
Shopavision caught up with this sweet, fun loving lass who is only 22 years old and still a student. With the aim of promoting her online fashion store, she unleashed her creative juices while sipping on a cup of pomegranate juice and started to do parodies, imitating the fashion choices of celebrities, and capturing them in her own local way.
Couture fashion turns drool-worthy food ensembles… Who could have came up with such an idea but Miss Benjaphorn Chetsadan, from Ratchaburi, Thailand! This was her very first attempt.
Shopavision says: Pretty weak in our opinion initially.
In no time, she started to challenge herself with more and more elaborated getups. Being a foodie, it was naturally the most brilliant idea to create costumes with food! And so, her filigree feeding frenzy started 3 years ago with this:
Guess what ingredient she used for her necklace?
Shopavision says: Well.. still not so impressed..
From then on, she has never looked back.
This is really fun and she enjoys every moment of it. She delights in bringing joy to the people who see her creations as a form of entertainment. Of course, this new found fame brought along nasty, hurtful remarks.
Shopavision says: What’s new right? That’s the uncomely side of social media
Worst of all, she was shamed for being fat and ugly. Being her cheerful self, she chose to ignore such comments and converted that energy into motivation to keep her going. She loves herself and told us that obesity is the best thing for her.
Yes, so she would dare to eat all the costumes that she has made without having to worry about going out of shape. Eating makes her happy, and she will not let anyone take that away from her! The inspiration of wanting to be “the chubby girl who dares to play with creativity” kept her going.
But of course she works out at the gym regularly too, to stay healthy and burn off the calories, so she can eat more. LOL….
Each piece of her edible apparel takes her about 4 – 12 hours to prepare. She wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help of her mum and aunts.
Shopavision says: My mum would have flipped if I attempted to do this.
Till date, the “cracker dress” is still her favourite masterpiece!
This is her low-cost parody of actress Chompoo Araya’s red carpet look at L’Oreal Paris Cannes Film Festival 2016. Guess what… the bags of prawn crackers were from her mother’s store!
The pièce de résistance was when she was invited to meet Chompoo Araya in person at a subsequent event. Is her appetizing adornment going down well? They say the proof is in the pudding, don’t they.
Check out the best of her edible costumes thus far…
